My Top 9 Movies* of 2023

Hey everyone, I’m not dead, but I have been busy, and unfortunately, unlike last year, I didn’t have enough time/funds to see as much as I would have liked, which is a shame because there was a lot that I was looking forward to. I only saw about nine films this year, all of which will be listed in this post, and unlike in previous years, I will stretch the definition of what some might consider a film. Same rules as before: the films are roughly ranked in ascending order, but don’t take it seriously, though the last film mentioned is my favourite movie of the year.
And as always, my honourable mentions are films I wanted to see but missed out on. They are Killers of the Flower Moon (I recommend checking out Native Media Theory’s video about it), Missing, Polite Society, Cocaine Bear, 65, John Wick: Chapter 4, Beau Is Afraid, David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Nimona, Joy Ride, Next Goal Wins, The Boy and the Heron, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, Dream Scenario, Godzilla Minus One, Red, White & Royal Blue, Gran Turismo, The Creator, Napoleon, Poor Things, Wonka, No One Will Save You, and The Iron Claw.

Super Mario Bros. Movie

Honestly, this was just a fun, bright and colourful movie, though I can somewhat understand why the critics were perhaps a bit harsh…
