POISON: I’m Sold On Angel Dust’s New Voice

The YouTube channel Vivziepop, most well known for their ongoing animated web series Helluva Boss, has recently dropped their latest video, a second music video related to Hazbin Hotel. Hazbin Hotel, for those who don’t know, is an upcoming series set in the same universe as Helluva Boss, both being situated in Hell, which is rather unique considering I can’t think of that many stories, at least in the mainstream, that are predominantly set in Hell. That’s kind of odd when you think about it.
But anyway, if you read my last post about Hazbin Hotel, you may remember that there was a controversy about the announcement that Michael Kovach would not reprise his role as Angel Dust. This was heartbreaking news for any diehard fans of both the pilot episode and the first music video, ADDICT, which still remain the top two most viewed videos on the channel to this day, with ADDICT taking the number one spot with more than twice the amount of views to the pilot at the time of my writing this.
It wasn’t announced immediately who would be taking over as Angel Dust, but eventually, we did get an answer, and that was Blake Roman. Considering Helluva Boss is a diegetic musical (though they’ve been stretching the boundaries of what counts as diegetic), whereas Hazbin Hotel is a straight-up musical, it does make sense to go with someone with at least a background in musical theatre, which, as far as I could…
